Hi Folks,

I hope you can stop by the Fig Tree Gallery for the art hop on Thursday to see the member group show called "Gorgeous Nothings", a show about our inspirations and creative process. Jay Scantling will have a couple of pieces in it.

Exhibition Dates: June 4 – 28, 2026

ArtHop Reception: Thursday, June 4, 2026, 5–8:00 PM

Group art talk, Saturday, June 6, 12:00 pm.

Gorgeous Nothings, the title of our June exhibition, is taken from a book with the same title. It refers to Emily Dickinson’s writing process, her unique approach to catching inspiration whenever it comes. Dickinson wore an apron, covered with pockets while going about her daily chores, and in those pockets, she stashed small scraps of paper, scavenged from various correspondences: envelope flaps, unfolded envelopes, shards from a letter. When inspiration struck, she’d pull out a piece of paper and write down the intuitive transmission. Like Dickinson, we all have our version of Gorgeous Nothings. What do yours look like?
